Yuletide Letter 2021

I hope you are just as excited about this year's yuletide as I am!!!
I am generally an easy person to please when it comes to fic, particularly in an exchange environment, and so please don't feel pressure or assume that I am looking for anything too particular in any story you write for me. I want you to have just as much writing the story as I am sure I will have in reading it.
My general preferences are pretty broad, the main thing I can tell you is that I do prefer stories with a plot (even a flimsy one) over introspections or fic focused on world-building, in addition I love stories that focus on the relationships and interplay between characters. My favorite actual genres are horror and romance, so any elements of either of those is sure to be something I will enjoy. I will provide specific fandom prompts, however, I am not married to any of the ideas I list below, so if you have a story idea for the characters involved I will probably love it (unless it hits my DNWs). I also am somewhere in the middle on the, fluff to angst spectrum, I like a mix of both.
Some Tropes & Genres that I enjoy:
Do Not Wants
Mighty Ducks (Movies)
Character: Charlie Conway
Optional Details: These movies have been my main fandom experience for the last few years. I find them fun and I love the characters enough that I find them really fun to speculate on what they are doing outside of the purview of the films. That said Charlie Conway is definitely my fave of the bunch and I just would really love fic involving him in some way. I have my faves in terms of ships but for the purpose of Yuletide, I am totally game for Charlie/Adam, Charlie/Jesse or Charlie/Adam/Jesse if you are up for it. I would prefer if you aren't comfortable with any of those to keep Charlie single for the purposes of the fic. I only requested Charlie because I didn't want to hold you to any particularly combination in that regard. So if you want to write me ship!fic for any of those pairings, I will absolutely love it. I really just would love something showing Charlie for who he is and letting others get to love and care for him back! Especially if you want to write Adam/Charlie, I would love something where Adam shows up for Charlie as I usually see it the other way around
I did follow Game Changers, but I am not particularly tied to any of the choices the show made, so feel free to discard anything that comes from that corner of the show, but I am not against if you do want to incorporate GC canon into your story
Specific Prompts:
- How close does he remain with the other Ducks? How involved is he in their lives?
- I am always up for Road!Trip shenanigans in this fandom
- What other things is Charlie into outside of hockey?
- Are there parallels between Charlie and other Ducks?
- Any look at Charlie's relationship with Adam and/or Jesse is great.
- Any expansion or fix it of the events of D3, would be welcome. I like the base of what is there but I quibble with the execution so would love to see another writer's take on it. If you want to AU where Jesse attends Eden Hall.
- Also this fandom could use more AUs, so feel free to AU it up!
- Group Chat fic between the Ducks
- Any exploration of Charlie’s self worth which was only hinted at, like was coaching really what he wants to do or is it just because he thinks he can’t make it as a player.
-Really obsessed with the scenario for Adam/Charlie where Charlie goes pro and Adam doesn’t.
- a fic where Adam, Charlie, Jesse are all roommates (you can add Guy or Fulton if you want as well), fic can be a roommates to lovers for any combination of those three. (Tho if you want to do Adam/Charlie, please have others in addition to Jesse living with them)
Fear Street Trilogy (TV)
Characters: Deena Johnson, Samantha "Sam" Fraser
Optional Details: Absolutely had a grand old time with these movies this past summer, so I definitely would love to see more from them. I actually super love that we see Deena and Sam post break-up, and just want more with them, whether you want to expand on the canon or whether you want to do an AU or whatever. I loved the period of the films and the use of music. I just thought it was a fun trilogy and the fact that it was held down by f/f relationship made it all the better. Any further expansion on Sam's character would be great, in that of everyone she sort of got the short shrift.
Specific Prompts:
- If you want to do their get together story that takes place prior to the movie, I would love that.
- What are they like post-1666.
- Did they have meet-ups before the events of the movie that lead to the breaking point we saw? If so what was that like?
- What if the events of the movie hadn't happened and they stayed a part. Do you think they still would have gotten together? If so, how would that happen.
- Them in college and in the world would also be great.
- If you want to do an AU, I am all for it.
Tenkuu no Escaflowne | The Vision of Escaflowne
Characters: Van Fanel, Kanzaki Hitomi
Optional Prompts: Escaflowne has been dear to me for years and Van/Hitomi is one of my earliest OTPs from when I was young. I actually love how the show ended and the bittersweetness of it, that said I am a sucker for reunion!fic in whatever form it comes. I am also completely open to whatever sort of AU you could come up with. I love the mutual respect and belief that they have in one another, they were truly drift compatible before that was even a thing. I would just love to see more of them working, communicating and being there for each other.
Specific Prompts:
- First time fic!
- I would love interplanetary sex between them (like it would be their equivalent of phone/skype/cyber sex with an interplanetary spin on it)
- If Hitomi returns to Gaea how is she treated differently from the first time? Is she involved/does Van involve her in the politics of running a country. Does Van help her learn the language/culture or is that left to advisors or whatnot?
- An arranged marriage!AU would work super well for them.
- A Pacific Rim Fusion would also be interesting given the genre and mecha elements
- Van spending time on Earth would also be interesting and I always love that set up.
- Any look at the period between the final battle with Zaibach and when Hitomi returns to Earth would work. (Do they talk? Do they kiss? How much time passes between it)
- Epistolary look at them writing each other letters over the years.
Lilywhite Boys Series - K.J. Charles
Characters: Susan Lazarus, Templeton Lane | James Vane
Optional Details: Any Old Diamonds was actually the first Charles book I read and I absolutely loved it. It is one of the few books where the twist involving the protagonist actually got me on the first time reading it and then became even better on subsequent re-reads. And also Susan and her entire character really made this series for me. (Which only grew after I went back and read the Sins of the Cities series). That said I really just want so much more from Susan and her relationship with Templeton (James). Their relationship is so fascinating, and while I did generally enjoy Gilded Cage, I think it left so much more on the table. So any expansion or exploration of their relationship is fine by me, as well as any reflection on Susan's relationship with Cara if you are up for that. Obviously any incorporation of Alec/Jerry as well as Justin/Nathaniel or connections to any other of the common characters from the Charles universe would be delightful and not at all unwelcome.
Specific Prompts:
- Any look at their relationship when they were paling around together, up to the events that drove them a part. I think I would love to see more of them when they were at their most idealistic and naive.
- Any encounters they had between their parting and the events of Any Old Diamonds would be amazing. I want to know more about the time that Susan almost shot him!
- Does he assist her in setting up P.I. firm and if so do they have to do ruses that require James to dabble back into his jewel thieving skillset? Any thing of them working together to accomplish anything post canon would be fun.
- Any post canon look would be wonderful as well.
