Hello Yuletiders!

I hope you are just as excited about this year's yuletide as I am!!!

I am generally an easy person to please when it comes to fic, particularly in an exchange environment, and so please don't feel pressure or assume that I am looking for anything too particular in any story you write for me. I want you to have just as much writing the story as I am sure I will have in reading it.

My general preferences are pretty broad, the main thing I can tell you is that I do prefer stories with a plot (even a flimsy one) over introspections or fic focused on world-building, in addition I love stories that focus on the relationships and interplay between characters. My favorite actual genres are horror and romance, so any elements of either of those is sure to be something I will enjoy. I will provide specific fandom prompts, however, I am not married to any of the ideas I list below, so if you have a story idea for the characters involved I will probably love it (unless it hits my DNWs). I also am somewhere in the middle on the, fluff to angst spectrum, I like a mix of both.

All of my prompts are just suggestions to help you decide what you want to do, I am not set on them, and if you have something that I didn't prompt feel free to go for it (provided it doesn't step on any DNWs).

Dear Yuletide Writer!

Season's Greetings, and Happy Yuletide!! Thank you so much for signing up, and I hope this Yuletide is good to you. The most important thing I want you to know is that pretty much anything outside of the hard DNWs (which are included in my sign up) are just guidelines and if any of it stresses you or you have a great idea that I don't really specify please feel free to disregard and write what you really want. I'm just happy for anything in the below fandoms with the below characters. I am not married to any one concept or any one fandom.

My twitter and tumblr are both open, I am kayromantics on Twitter, and kayromantic on Tumblr. I am also kayromantic on AO3. I may tag my requested fandoms as yuletide going forward if you want to eke out more about my general feelings about these fandoms.

I basically ship all the characters requested with each other, and so I really just want fic about their relationship. I will in general read a shippiness to their interactions no matter what you do. In general my main fic preferences is for the fic to have some sort of plot. The plot can be cheesy, tropey and simple, I just enjoy stories where things actually happen over things like character studies or just world building or fics that are just introspections. I am fine with angst, but honestly I tend to love the things that fall in the middle between angst and fluff, I tend to not like pure angst OR pure fluff.

I don't have too strong of preference when it comes to tense or POV, but I tend to be wary of first and second when it comes to fic. That isn't a hard DNW so if you are dead set on writing in first or second person have at it.

Stories/Tropes/Plots that I love are, but not limited to, things like fake dating, secret dating, what if canon divergences, (enemies/rivals)-friends-lovers, mutual pining, stuck in a closet/boat/island, arranged marriage, partners in crime, epistolary fic etc.

The Hard DNWs: Rape/Sexual Violence, Porn Without Plot, Slave!fic, Crossovers, unrequested ships that contradict the pairings requested, character/ship bashing, teacher/student dynamic or adult/minor dynamic, graphic homophobic, misogynistic, racist, transphobic violence, cancer/terminal illness, overly detailed descriptions of bodily fluids (no scat/golden showers etc.), major character death, BDSM or anything harder than say light bondage.

The Requests:

Fandom: Elite (TV)
Characters: Ander Muñoz, Omar Shana

Why I like the Fandom/Characters? I love me a good, over wrought and dramatic teen show and Elite completely delivers. I love most characters except for Polo and Catalina, but Ander and Omar and their relationship is probably one of my favorite things about the show. I love their dynamic and their personal conflicts are real, relatable even as everything else feels unreal. I find both Ander and Omar very relatable at different points, and I love the pattern that they've built to grow and adapt as their circumstances change. I love that they are shown as being connected to gay culture even as small as it is. (I mean I love that they go to a gay bar)

Feel free to incorporate as many of the other characters in the show, I am fine with Nadia/Guzman and Samuel/Carla but am not really into anything else beyond that, and I would rather they not be the focus.

Prompts/Jump Off Points: Any sort of AU would work for me here, a look at the series of ten minute meet ups over the summer, domestic foibles as they live together, what if Omar went to Las Encinas (either in place of Nadia or alongside her)?, maybe expand and/or fill in gaps that are obviously there in the series.

Fandom: Mighty Ducks (Movies)
Characters: Adam Banks, Charlie Conway

Why I like the Fandom/Characters? I sort of rediscovered these movies a couple of years ago due to an actual dream I had and now this is...well it's probably my main fandom, lol. The movies, while never real masterpieces, still hold up surprisingly well and watching the third one now, I liked it more than I did when I was a preteen and saw it in theaters. I like Adam and Charlie as sort of the two sides of the same coin, and even though canon doesn't give much, I like the idea of their dynamic and the plays to friendship the movie does give us. The Natural Talent and The Hard Worker. Canon to me gives you just enough to provide a foundation. I do ship this hard, it is probably my top non-canon OTP to be honest, and is probably the one fandom I stay apprised of here outside of Yuletide. I actually received a great fic last year, and normally I don't request what I've received the previous year, but I just want more because I think I've read everything too many times.

I am fine incorporating any other character from canon, particularly if it's the other kids. I am fine and open to pretty much an non-contradictory pairing to the above, just keep Adam and Charlie the focus

Prompts/Jump Off Points: I am literally open to most things here, canon-divergence of the "What If" would be great, so any scenario there would be great. Secret Relationship, Road Trip, What if they are rivals on opposing teams, re-connecting after a long period. Basically take any simple premise and I'm here for it.

Fandom: Bishoujo Senshi Sailor Moon | Pretty Guardian Sailor Moon (Live Action TV)
Characters: Hino Rei, Aino Minako

Why I like the Fandom/Characters? This is absolutely my favorite version of the classic arc of any Sailor Moon canon, and I just loves how it takes the story and turns it on its head. I especially love how the relationship between the girls is its most important and central focus as opposed to the main romance. I love the relationship between Rei and Minako in this version in particular. They are sort of rivals, sort of not, always pushing and willing to call the other out on their stubbornness. They are both so different in this version and I live for it. I love how Minako is so guarded and mission focused, but every now and again we see her playful, over the top side. I love how Rei deals with her isolation and how she grows to learn how to relate and connect with others and how she jumps on what gives her life a purpose and dedicates herself fully but then also realizes that there's more than just their past lives. It's so great.

Prompts/Jump Off: Any story of their relationship at any part of the timeline would be great. What was past Mars/Venus like? Minako gets so coy about being excited about Mars' awakening in the early part of their interactions I'm intrigued. I would love to see Minako rope Rei into more appearances as "Mars Reiko", how does Rei react now that Minako is alive and not sick at the end? Just give me all the push and pull and how they grow close, because I think their bond is one of the stronger ones in the group.

Fandom: Red White & Royal Blue - Casey McQuiston
Characters: Alex Claremont-Diaz, Henry Fox-Mountchristen-Windsor

Why I like the Fandom/Characters? This book is my current hyper-fixation, so I may just be on a high after reading it. I basically love every bit, every page of this book because it is exactly the tropey, hopeful story that I love in all the best ways. This is definitely a case where I love everyone in this bar. I am just requesting Alex and Henry though, because I didn't know and couldn't narrow down and I didn't want to further limit you in any ways. Needless to say, appearances by basically anyone would be absolutely delightful. Alex is my favorite, he can get me laughing to crying in a second. I love how completely he throws himself into things, but I love Henry too, his quietness and how he sort of is revealed throughout the book. I would love to see how he opens up even further down the road.

Prompts/Jump Off: I think any expansion on events in the novel, particularly from Henry's POV would be great, maybe a confluence of moments and an expansion on their time as 'enemies' would be great. Post-novel, I would love any story of them having to deal with a situation or hiccup due to their situation or what would the world's first gay royal wedding be like? Or go full on Fairy-Tale AU or any sort of setting AU, these characters are so well-defined that I feel you could definitely plop them in any universe and get fireworks. What if they are thrown together through other circumstances. I am going to be honest, basically anything right now would work for me.

I am pretty open with regards to fic that I enjoy. As a general preference, I prefer at least some semblance of a plot over a strict character study. It does not need to be some complex or grand original thing, but having characters go through and deal with something, or solve a problem, or discover something new or really anything where the characters are taking an active role in doing something is what I lean towards. The thing can be as simple as baking cookies for a bake sale and that would suffice, or oh no there is only one bed (or there's twin beds!) how will we deal.

I requested two characters for pretty much all the below, and that is because I am most interested in relationships between them. If you can write them as a romance (you can do either pre or established relationship) that would be great as I ship everything I requested, but if you want to do gen, I would love just anything where they have to work on or through something together. I would just ask that if you do do gen, that you not include any contradictory ships even as background. I don't have any DNW characters for the below fandoms, so feel free to include anyone else that you feel (both nommed and unnommed) just as long as the two characters are the focus.

I am a huge fan of silly and sentimental tropes. If you've seen it in a cheesy romcom, I will probably love it, but here is a list if you want just a general inspiration for plot ideas. You can use any number of them or none at all:

Mutual Pining, Earnest Declarations, Enemies/Rivals to Friends (to lovers if you want to do shipfic), fake!dating, party games reveal secrets, accidentally in love, exes falling in love all over again, found families, stuck in a cabin/a closet/a Walmart, babysitting/taking care of children (not their own), falling in love with the mark, found families, fraught and non-fraught reunions, rivalmances, artists/jocks, dumb jocks in love, heist!fic, setting as a character, canon divergence (what if this one thing is different…), friendly banter/teasing, "I saw you the other day and it was like seeing you for the first time", Secret Admirer, Pen Pals, really passionate declarations and confessions.

Do Not Wants: Contradictory ships, noncon, dubcon, slavefic, crossovers, issuefic, excessive homophobia and transphobia (no bashing, conversion therapy, forced homelessness, rampant use of slurs or heavy abuse etc.), teacher/student plots, A/B/O, threesomes, major character death, character bashing, forced institutionalization, extreme kink or D/s, or overly descriptive porn (I am not into just straight describing of sex acts, I need there to be an emotional/character driven element to the sex that is happening).

The Requests (Again, use the prompts how you see fit, I am not dead set on any of them).

Might Ducks

Characters: Adam Banks, Charlie Conway

Why I love the Canon: Would you believe that I literally dreamed about the above pairing about a year ago and then went and looked for fic and now I am here requesting it for Yuletide. I really enjoyed these movies as a kid, and I like how Charlie and Adam are sort of paralleled and spotlighted in terms of their relationship. I would love something that just shows how their relationship grows and how in tandem they are with each other, and if you ship it, how they can become close or how they navigate a relationship (either while in high school or after). Honestly I would love something fun (maybe a little fraught if you want).

Prompts: Canon divergence of what if Adam never joined the Ducks and they meet at Eden Hall, Single!Dad Charlie meets Adam home from the NHL, long distance relationship, secretly together, a storied rivalry in the NHL but they are secretly friends/lover. Also any out of town shenanigans (have to share one bed, one time on at the ski trip...).

Don’t Trust the B---- in Apartment 23

Characters: Chloe, June Colburn

Why I love the Canon: It’s fun and I love these kind of difficult female relationships. If you can do anything that mimics the style of the show that would be great, as it was definitely cut too short in my opinion. I would love more ways to show how they both sort of assist each other in becoming better people, or rather how Chloe brings June down to her level, and June in turn brings Chloe up to hers. I didn’t request him because I didn’t want to hold anyone who might not be comfortable with even sort-of RPF but if you can include James Van Der Beek that would be great, because he was genuinely great in the show.

Prompts: They pretend to date so much it becomes real, makeover for a night, have to get out of a jam. Honestly anything fun and light and zippy and irreverent. Anything that can bring out their continued influence on the other.

Characters: Simon Spier, Bram Greenfeld

Why I Love the Canon: I should first say I haven’t read the books, so you can include stuff from the books, but I won’t pick up on it. This film was way too relatable to me, and I loved watching Simon grow throughout it and come into himself. I would say I would have loved more of Bram throughout the film given the conclusion so that is probably the major prompt I have for this film. But just any further expansion of them either pre- during or post-canon would be great.

Prompts: Bram’s side of the story, honestly anything that expands on their relationship and Bram in particular would be great. I just would love a further expansion on Bram and their relationship in general. I just saw the film recently so that is why I don't have as many prompts as the others. I'm sure I'll love whatever you do if you decide to write in this fandom. So maybe they struggle to find alone time, going through awkward firsts in the relationship, the struggle of maintaining a long distance relationship (epistolary fics are always fun!)
